Structural steel design, connection design, 3D modeling, and shop drawings for 2000 m2 Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) platform structure for TAV Construction in Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport. The structure involved working around existing reinforced concrete and mechanical systems. For the BHS platform, BIM collaboration was intensely used with the mechanical designers. Checking of existing structures was also performed based on Turkish Seismic Code. 800tons of steel was used in the projects.
