This 45m-span timber bridge was designed with Glulam arches 300x1500 in section. The 13th century caravanserai in the Lalish region of Iraq next to the bridge was the welcome house for the pilgrims for the Yezidi faith. Lalish is the historic and traditional pilgrimage site for the believers of the faith. The arches have a tapered section in the mid-third to provide the feeling of widening of the walking deck in the center. Project Architect was EPA Mimarlık. The conservation specialist of our project was David Michelmore.
